Every so often there emerges a designer item that you just can’t get off your mind; for me, this is currently the Gucci Princetown loafers. If you’d have told me a year ago that I’d become obsessed with backless loafers I would never have believed you, but these shoes have captivated me in a very profound way. Whilst I love the whole array of designs in the range (fur lined, brocade, metallic), the classic black won my heart. The only problem is that I was never going to be able to shell out for the real deal.
Imagine my joy when I discovered this River Island version; in soft supple leather and snaffle bit detail, it was love at first sight. The perfect dupe!
Loafers: River Island
You may have seen this shirt over on my Instagram; I just love how the masculine tailoring is softened by the ultra-feminine embroidery.
Bag: Zara (sold out)
Shoes: Topshop (old)
Right now I’m loving this longline shirt. It’s a simple way to add drama to an otherwise plain outfit of black skinny jeans and court shoes.
Shirt: Monsoon (sold out)
Shoes: M&S (old)
Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs (old, but similar here)
Some autumnal colours are creeping in this week, but I’m still not giving up on summer and thinking about swimsuits, slip dresses and bold earrings.

2. Cheeseplant earrings, Black Heart Creatives
3. Beige handbag, Mango
4. Nail polish in Dark Like Me, Smith and Cult
5. Navy swimsuit, Marks and Spencer
This Dolce-esque dress is my favourite sale purchase of the season. It’s a real showstopper, so I dressed it down with flat mules (a la The Frugality) and a biker jacket for a dinner date.
Dress: M&S (sold out)
Biker jacket: New Look
Shoes: Primark (similar here)
Bag: & Other Stories (sold out)
